Volunteers are important resources throughout the Santa Barbara Public Library System, assisting Library users by giving of their time and talents. The contributions made by those who volunteer at the Central Library or at a branch facility increase the quality and breadth of Library services for everyone in the community.

A variety of volunteer opportunities are available to those wishing to contribute. Depending on the need for assistance at a given time and Library location, volunteers may be matched with various assignments, each helping to enrich customer’s enjoyment of the Library. Examples of volunteer responsibilities include:

Every effort is made to ensure both a rewarding experience for every volunteer and enhancement of services to all Library patrons.
